The broken wings

Today, I have seen something amazing. Honestly, I was raised in Europe so it is quite normal to be familiar with the European literature rather than others but today I have started to read a short novel written by Khalil Gibran: The Broken Wings. Gibran is a Lebanese writer later settled in Boston, USA performing writing, poetry, drawing, etc.

Nothing new, quite a well known setup but the words and the descriptions are just simply amazing. Some magic is coming out from his mind. It is really a short novel, if you are interested you can download it here. Worth to read!

In order to have an idea about his thoughts just read a few quotes:

"Solitude has soft, silky hands, but with strong fingers it grasps the heart and makes it ache with sorrow."

"Spring is beautiful everywhere , but it is the most beautiful in Lebanon."

"Real beauty lies in the spiritual accord that is called love which can exist between a man and a woman."

"Love is the only freedom in the world because it so elevates the spirit that laws of humanity and phenomena of nature do not alter its course."

"One look from a woman's eye makes you the happiest man in the world. One word from a man's lips will make you rich or poor."

"It is wrong to think that loves comes from long companionship and persevering courtship. Love is the offspring of spiritual affinity and unless that affinity is created in a moment, it will not be created in years or even generations."

Ps. This blog is dedicated to a good friend, who these days is the happiest man in the world!
