Somewhere back in time

Yes, indeed. It was somewhere back in time. You know, I am 31 years old and I love Enya. I always did. Somebody had to. However, what happened before the Enya period? That period of my youth was really nothing but heavy metal and Iron Maiden. Of course, some Judas Priest and Twisted Sister also, but mainly it was nothing but Maiden.

It can be quite strange but that period of mine was one of the most exciting one. I was born in a eastern European country where it was impossible to attend such a concert at those time.s So what did we do? We were just listening music on and on . Deep inside we were nothing but rockers thirsty of heavy metal. It was a kind of faith. T-shirts, jeans, chains and rivets and of course long hair to look like real heavy metal fans. That was really some a hell of a time.

I remember my first concert was around in the early '90s and it was a Hungarian heavy metal band OssiaN or it was PokolGeP? Honestly, I do not remember anymore. I just know how excited I was and it was really a lifetime experience. Unfortunately time is passing by and I was attracted to other kind of music (mainly new age) but I never give up listening from time to time old songs from Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Metallica, Kiss, Van Halen, Helloween and so on. You know, as W. Churchill did in 1940 "...we shall never surrender". So did I with this music.

Yesterday, one of my dreams has come true. I've attended a live concert of Iron Maiden, -my idols- in Budapest, Hungary. It was unbelievable. I was also lucky because I have attended the concert with my best friends, old classmates also eager to listen and play tribute to this great band. A lot of people were gathered on the 0th day of the Sziget Fesztival. I have even seen older guys than me, wearing Iron Maiden t-shirts and so on. It was really something amazing.

I was seeking in my memory but nothing has changed. Maybe the band was 20 year older but nothing else. The guys, the sound, the music, the movement it was like 20 year ago. It was just great. I was really excited about everything. Unbelivable. The cloths were similar. I remember the VHS tapes what we were rolling on and on. Everything it was like 20 years ago.

Can you imagine to see Eddie moving on the stage? I've waited two decades to see this and I have seen with my own eyes.

I think it was another lifetime experience for me and I hope every Iron Maiden fan should meet his/her idols trough such a life concerts. All what I can say is: Thank you Iron Maiden! Maiden is the best. It was the best and it will be the best ever in Time.
